Dark times have truly come for Angy Fernández. The artist, who was preparing with great enthusiasm to participate in a special and promising project alongside Antonio Banderas, shared on her social networks news of a devastating blow of fate. The singer and actress reported that just as hope and joy were finally returning to her life, everything was cut short by an unfortunate accident. She did not disclose the details of what happened.
This came as a real shock to her. The Mallorca native, who has previously spoken openly about her mental health struggles and even suicidal thoughts, had been going through a rough patch after a breakup. And just when it seemed things were finally looking up, the unexpected happened. She told her followers that she had suffered an ACL tear and a serious meniscus injury. Regrettably, this injury means she will not be able to take the stage in the musical ‘Godspell’ troupe, with the premiere scheduled for the end of October. Nevertheless, she assured fans that she is not leaving the production entirely and will remain “part of the show, but in a different capacity.”
Despite the severity of the situation, Angi, who has been in therapy for many years, tries to find positive moments. The actress feels tremendous support and care from her colleagues. She believes that even in such misfortune, she is lucky to be surrounded by wonderful people whose attitude she will never forget. Fernández tries to believe that everything happening has some meaning. She speaks about the need to pause, breathe, trust the process, and be patient, emphasizing that sometimes a pause is also a step forward. She promises to return even stronger and with her usual enthusiasm intact.
And yet, she cannot hide her despair over the cruel irony of fate that struck her at the height of working on such an important project. After months of depression, she once again felt incredible inspiration, was happy, full of energy, and enjoying her favorite work. And suddenly—this. The main question tormenting her: “Why?” In the midst of recovery, Angi admits she wishes all this were just a bad dream. That she could wake up and return to rehearsals, to dance and laugh with her colleagues in the incredible atmosphere of the theater. She also regrets that her injury disrupted the well-established production process just two weeks before the premiere. It hurts her to know that she let the team down, made everyone worry, and threw plans into disarray. Hardest of all is realizing that she won’t be able to go on stage every evening, sing and share this story with the audience.
In conclusion, she shared the depth of her sorrow. Theater brings her so much happiness that words cannot express the pain she feels right now. She understands that there are worse things in life, but she cannot hold back her emotions. Sadness and anger overwhelm her, and the only thing left is to accept what has happened. “I don’t understand this, but I have to go through it,” she writes, suggesting that sometimes life forces us to stop. And while it hurts, she will try to believe that this is not the end, but merely a temporary pause.
