Bernardo Lopes, now 12 years old, plays for the youth team of Botafogo. In early childhood, he suffered severe burns but never gave up on his dream of becoming a professional athlete.
Together with his father Leandro and agent Rafael Cabral, founder of RCS Atletas, Bernardo recalls the long recovery after the tragedy. The accident happened when he was just one year old: hot water caused serious injuries that required multiple skin graft surgeries and extended treatment in intensive care.
The family believes Bernardo’s survival and progress were made possible by a miracle and support from above. Despite all the challenges, he remains optimistic and grateful, noting that faith helps him move forward and persevere.
Bernardo took his first steps in football thanks to the support of neighbors and coaches who noticed his talent. After training at the social school Meninos de Ouro, he passed the selection for the Botafogo academy, where he was given a very warm welcome.
Bernardo successfully balances his studies with training and particularly excels in mathematics. He remains focused on his goals and continues to develop both as an athlete and a student.
His agent highlights not only the boy’s talent, but also his diligence and the environment that supports the young footballer’s growth. Inspired by the examples of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo dreams of one day meeting Ronaldo, achieving professional success, representing Brazil’s national team, and winning major tournaments.
