In 2025, young Spaniards reaching adulthood can once again look forward to a special gift from the government. This refers to the cultural voucher, which has become a tradition for those entering adult life. Launched in 2022, the program continues to gain popularity and this year will include a new generation — those born in 2007.
The initiative is straightforward: everyone turning 18 in 2025 will receive €400 to spend on cultural events and products. However, the money can’t be spent on just anything. The amount is divided into three parts: €200 for attending concerts, theaters, festivals, museums, and even bullfights; another €100 for books, magazines, CDs, video games, and other physical media; and the remaining €100 for digital content such as streaming service subscriptions, online cinemas, e-books, and gaming platforms.
It is important to note that the bonus cannot be used to buy clothing, electronics, stationery, pay for courses, or purchase musical instruments. The funds must be spent exclusively on cultural purposes, as clearly stated in the program rules. So if anyone was hoping to upgrade their laptop with this assistance, they’ll have to look for other options.
Applications for participation in the program can be submitted until October 31, 2025. The process is simple: just confirm your age and apply through the official website. You can do this yourself or through a legal representative, provided you have the necessary authorization. Once approved, participants choose whether to receive the bonus on a virtual or physical prepaid card. The card can be used at stores and services participating in the program for one year from the date of activation. The card is personalized; it cannot be transferred to others, and the bonus cannot be exchanged for cash. Refunds are only possible in case of event cancellation or if a product is unavailable.
For 2025, the country’s budget has already allocated 150 million euros for this initiative. Since the program’s launch, nearly one million young people in Spain have taken advantage of it. For many, it is not only an opportunity to discover new cultural events, but also a chance to explore something new in the world of art and entertainment.
