A high-profile trial has wrapped up in Guadalajara, centered on the triple murder that shocked the residents of Chiloeches in the spring of 2024. A jury unanimously found 29-year-old F.P.S. guilty of deliberately killing three people, as well as committing a violent robbery and arson.
How the events unfolded on the night of the tragedy
In April last year, the accused broke into a private home where a family of four lived. According to investigators, the original intent was robbery, but the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Armed with a bayonet, the perpetrator attacked the couple and their daughter while they slept. All three died on the spot. The only survivor was the family’s son, who managed to escape by jumping over the fence.
The role of accomplices and details of the investigation
The proceedings revealed that the accused had accomplices. One of them, D.M.A., was found guilty of participating in the violent robbery, with the court taking his admission of guilt as a mitigating factor. Another, S.B.M., who was in a relationship with the murdered girl at the time of the crime, was also convicted of facilitating the robbery, but without any mitigating circumstances.
Awaiting the verdict and public reaction
After the verdict was announced, the court stated that the case had been handed over for final sentencing. The community of Chiloeches and the entire province of Guadalajara closely followed the proceedings, which drew widespread attention due to the brutality of the crime and the tragic death of an entire family. The court’s final decision is expected to be announced soon.
