One of the most anticipated winter attractions is back in Madrid — the Christmas market at Nuevos Ministerios. The area next to El Corte Inglés on Castellana has transformed into a real hotspot for locals and visitors, offering a blend of tradition, modern flair, and culinary discoveries.
From the very first moments, a special atmosphere fills the venue: garlands, sparkling lights, and the scents of fresh sweets and hot snacks. Children are delighted by the colorful Disney calendars, while adults can’t resist the iconic calamari sandwiches and fresh churros. This year, organizers have expanded the selection, adding new themed pavilions and family-friendly zones.
Food & Brands: What to Try
The culinary section is a true highlight this year. The market features both renowned establishments and new faces: La Cocreta, The Cookie Lab, Joselito, Demasié, with food trucks like Café de París, Tepic, Kricky Pelton, and Quispe. Those who prefer classics can enjoy Arzábal, Malvon, New York Burger, Beata Pasta, Cañitas Maite, and Pollos Muñoz. Dessert lovers aren’t forgotten either — traditional sweets from Vicens and the famous San Ginés treats await their fans.
Special attention is drawn to the return of Dabiz Muñoz, whose culinary projects always generate a buzz. With a wide range of dishes and drinks, the market has become a meeting place for gourmets, families, and tourists seeking fresh experiences ahead of the holidays.
Opening Hours and How to Get There
The market is open from November 13 to January 5. On regular days, it operates from noon to 11:00 p.m., and on Sundays in November — until 10:00 p.m. On special dates, such as December 24 and 31, it closes at 5:00 p.m., while on January 5 it’s open until 10:00 p.m. The market is closed on December 25 and January 1.
Organizers recommend using public transportation due to the large number of visitors. The Nuevos Ministerios metro station (lines 6, 8, 10) and numerous bus routes provide convenient access. Cyclists will also find BiciMAD stations located nearby.
Festive atmosphere and entertainment
In addition to food, visitors can enjoy music and light shows, photo zones, and workshops for children. There’s something for everyone: from picking out original home decorations to tasting signature dishes. The event is not just a place to shop, but a popular destination for those looking to experience the holiday spirit in the heart of Madrid.
The Christmas market at Nuevos Ministerios reaffirms its status as one of the main winter events in the capital. Here, traditions and modern trends come together, turning every visit into a small adventure for the whole family.
