Miguel Tellado Accuses TVE and Host of Political Bias Live On Air

Scandal Live: PP Spokesperson Clashes with TVE Journalist – Accusations of Manipulation and Defense of the Judiciary

Miguel Tellado sharply criticized TVE and Silvia Intxaurrondo following the Supreme Court’s decision. He accused the broadcaster of political bias. The confrontation sparked a strong public reaction.

On Friday morning, Spanish TV channel TVE found itself in the spotlight after a tense interview with Miguel Tellado, Secretary General of the Partido Popular (PP). The catalyst was breaking news about a Supreme Court verdict concerning the Attorney General. The case gave the opposition new momentum, and Tellado seized the opportunity to voice his stance live on La hora de la 1.

From the outset, the politician made it clear he would not shy away from tough issues. He criticized not only the government but also the structure of public television itself, accusing it of bias and political alignment. According to Tellado, the publicly funded channel should not become a tool for pressuring the country’s judiciary.

Accusations against the television channel and the host

During the conversation, Tellado addressed the show’s host, Silvia Intxaurrondo, expressing concern over how judicial matters are discussed on public TV. He pointed out that such comments undermine trust in institutions and set a dangerous precedent for democracy. The journalist responded with irony, but the politician stood his ground, insisting that this kind of rhetoric has no place in the public sphere.

The discussion escalated into a heated debate when the topic turned to the manifesto signed in 2024 against the so-called ‘judicial and media coup’, among whose signatories was Inchaurrondo herself. The host tried to determine how deeply the Partido Popular influences judicial proceedings, citing past statements from former party representatives about controlling the judiciary.

Tough questions and new accusations

Telledo rejected all suggestions that the party influences Supreme Court decisions, emphasizing the independence of the judges and their commitment to the law. He also expressed regret that, in his view, the state television is manipulating public opinion instead of reporting events objectively.

The host persisted in seeking a direct answer on whether there is any control over the judicial system, but Telledo avoided specifics, suggesting the question should be addressed to the former senator whose remarks sparked the discussion. At the conclusion of the interview, the politician once again stressed that he sees what is happening on the channel as an example of political manipulation.

Politicians’ private lives and sexism accusations

Toward the end of the conversation, the discussion turned to another hot topic—the possible tax offense allegedly committed by the partner of Madrid’s regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. Téllez stated that such matters should not be used as grounds for attacks against female politicians, emphasizing that personal lives should not be conflated with professional activities.

In response, Inchaurrondo sarcastically thanked her guest for defending women against sexism, delivering the final note in an already tense exchange. The interview ended on a high, leaving viewers with questions about the role of state media and the boundaries of political criticism in contemporary Spain.
