Flagship motherboard for enthusiasts
Taiwanese company MSI has unveiled a new motherboard designed for users seeking maximum performance from upcoming AMD processors. The Mighty MEG X870E ACE Max model is specifically built to support Ryzen 3D V-Cache Refresh chips, expected to hit the market in the coming years. This premium board targets those planning to take advantage of the latest technologies and features.
Technical features and innovations
The main highlight of this new product is its complete hardware and software support for upcoming AMD processors with virtual dual cache memory. The board comes with the AM5 socket and the latest AMD chipset, ensuring compatibility with future generations. It features an 18+2+1 power phase with support for up to 110 amps, and two eight-pin power connectors for stable performance under extreme loads.
Overclocking enthusiasts will find dedicated features: the built-in OC Engine clock generator can boost performance by up to 15%, while the Direct OC Jumper switch allows real-time BCLK adjustments. This is especially relevant for those who fine-tune their systems.
Expanded storage and cooling options
The motherboard is equipped with five M.2 slots, two of which support the Gen5 standard. M.2 Shield Frozr heatsinks are used to protect and efficiently cool the drives, and tool-free installation makes adding modules simple. The top PCIe 5.0 x16 slot also features an enhanced EZ PCIe locking system.
The cooling system uses heat pipes and wave-shaped heatsinks for efficient VRM heat dissipation. High thermal conductivity pads are utilized, and the metal backplate is styled in black and yellow, highlighting MSI’s signature design.
Modern interfaces and memory support
There are four DIMM slots for installing high-capacity and high-speed RAM modules. Notable interfaces include a 10 GbE LAN port, Wi-Fi 7, and modern USB4 connectors. This makes the board one of the most advanced in the AM5 lineup. It also features expanded BIOS memory, enabling future firmware updates without limitations.
The new board is expected to go on sale closer to CES 2026. It is designed for users building a powerful system with the latest AMD processors who want maximum options for overclocking and expansion.
