With the arrival of the summer holidays, families in Madrid are looking for new ways to enjoy active outdoor recreation. Just 30 minutes from the capital, in Torrejón de Ardoz, lies Parque Europa—a spacious green area that has become a real attraction for locals.
The park covers more than 230,000 square meters and offers free entry to all visitors. Here, you can see 19 large-scale replicas of famous European landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Arc de Triomphe, and even a fragment of the Berlin Wall. Each installation is accompanied by an informational plaque, turning a stroll through the park into an educational journey across Europe.
Particular attention is drawn to the large zip line stretching 180 meters over the main lake. The launch platform is 12 meters high, with a drop of more than 25 meters along the route. This attraction is popular with both children and adults, bringing an adventurous element to family leisure.
The park features three lakes, one of which offers boat rides. Green lawns, shady walkways, and picnic areas surround the ponds. Playgrounds are provided for young children, and for the whole family, there are cafes, kiosks, and restaurants where visitors can snack or relax in the shade.
In summer, the park’s main highlight is the evening water shows. Every weekend until the end of September, a free fountain, light, music, and projection show takes place at the central lake. Water jets shoot up to 40 meters high, with the central geyser reaching 50 meters. The show’s program varies by day of the week: on Fridays, it features hits from the 1980s, on Saturdays—electronic music, and on Sundays—more relaxing tunes for family outings.
Parque Europa is easily accessible by car and public transport. The most convenient route from Madrid is via the A-2 highway (exit 18). Parking is available for guests, including spaces for people with disabilities. City buses (routes 2 and 5), intercity bus 224-A from Avenida de America station, and commuter trains with a bus transfer at Torrejón de Ardoz, also serve the park.
Entrance to the park is through three main gates: at the replica of the Brandenburg Gate, at the replica of Puerta de Alcalá, and from Brújula Street. With its well-designed infrastructure and variety of attractions, Parque Europa has become one of the region’s most popular destinations for families, especially during the hot summer months.
Europa Park in Torrejón de Ardoz offers a chance to spend the day outdoors, discover European architecture, take part in active games, and enjoy spectacular shows. For many residents of Madrid and the surrounding areas, this spot has become a real escape from the city heat and an excellent alternative to shopping malls and typical urban entertainment.
