A Unique Immersive Exhibition of Van Gogh and Klimt Opens in Madrid

Dos grandes artistas en un solo espacio: ¿qué podrán ver los visitantes en el centro de Madrid?

An extraordinary exhibition has opened in the Spanish capital, where the works of Van Gogh and Klimt are presented through modern technologies. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of art thanks to multimedia installations, original music, and interactive zones. The exhibition runs until the end of August 2025.

One of the most notable cultural events of the year continues in Madrid—an immersive exhibition dedicated to two outstanding artists: Vincent van Gogh and Gustav Klimt. The exhibition has taken over the Nomad Museo Inmersivo on Gran Vía 78, and has already attracted thousands of residents and visitors to the city.

Modern technology allows visitors to literally step inside works of art. Thanks to large-scale projections, original music, and interactive features, each guest can experience art in a new way and gain a fresh perspective on the artists’ creations.

For the first time in the history of this venue, works by Van Gogh and Klimt are presented side by side. Organizers note that the exhibition has become a true hotspot for art lovers and those seeking new forms of cultural leisure.

The Van Gogh section invites visitors to explore key stages of the artist’s life and work. Each hall features large-scale projections of his paintings, with dynamic visual effects imitating brushstrokes. The atmosphere is enhanced by specially composed music that deepens the emotional impact. In one area, guests can use giant interactive brushes, try virtual reality, and immerse themselves in the setting through light and scents.

The musical accompaniment was created by a Spanish composer, lending a distinctive national flavor to the exhibition. This approach allows visitors not only to observe the works, but also to feel part of the creative process, immersing themselves in the artist’s world.

The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to Gustav Klimt, one of the most influential figures on the Viennese art scene at the turn of the 20th century. Visitors can explore nine stages of his life, see iconic portraits, symbolic landscapes, and even works lost during World War II, which have been digitally recreated especially for this exhibition.

The visual presentation is accompanied by large-scale animations that cover not only the walls but also the floor and architectural elements of the hall. This creates a fully immersive experience in Klimt’s artistic world. Special attention is given to the female figures that played a central role in his work, as well as the famous golden friezes and the painting ‘The Kiss.’

Organizers note that Klimt actively experimented with different techniques, including the use of genuine gold leaf, which gave his works a distinctive brilliance and depth. In the multimedia version, these effects are enhanced by modern technology, allowing viewers to virtually step inside the artist’s studio.

The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, with the last group admitted at 20:30. A visit lasts about one and a half hours. Tickets are available online, with up to 30% discounts on Mondays. Weekday admission for adults is €18; for children, students, seniors, and the unemployed — €15. On weekends and public holidays, tickets are €21 for adults and €18 for concessionary categories. Children under three enter free. An additional service fee applies for tickets purchased online.

You can reach the museum by metro (stations: Callao, Plaza de Espana, Santo Domingo) or by various bus routes. Thanks to this exhibition, Nomad Museo Inmersivo has strengthened its reputation as one of Madrid’s leading centers of immersive art, and this exhibition format continues to grow in popularity with a broad audience.

The exhibition will run until August 24, 2025, offering a unique opportunity to explore the works of two great artists in a new format.
