While tensions continue to rise over Prince Andrew’s decision to relinquish all his titles and honors so that scandalous allegations don’t tarnish the British royal family, a new problem has emerged—this time, involving his residence. It appears King Charles III is determined to evict his brother and his former wife Sarah Ferguson from their Royal Lodge home. Amid this challenging situation, a tempting offer has arrived from Abu Dhabi—one that could persuade the prince to voluntarily retreat to an exotic palace with all expenses already covered.
This opportunity arises for the most scandal-ridden son of Elizabeth II just as he is rumored to be negotiating with his royal brother. Reports claim that Andrew has demanded two alternative royal residences for himself and his ex-wife as a condition for vacating the mansion he has occupied since 2008. Meanwhile, amid the ongoing scandals tied to their friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah Ferguson is said to have wanted a separate place to live.
The British press speculates that Andrew has set his sights on Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Harry and Meghan, while Sarah Ferguson is eyeing Adelaide Cottage, which the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to vacate soon. The former Duke and Duchess of York, who divorced in 1996 after ten years of tumultuous marriage, have remained close friends and continued to live under one roof in a thirty-room mansion. Notably, as was recently revealed, they hadn’t paid rent for this luxurious property for almost two decades.
If his risky moves fail to convince the King, Prince Andrew has a backup plan. A generous offer from the ruling family of Abu Dhabi could allow him to follow in the footsteps of Spain’s emeritus King Juan Carlos I—and perhaps even become his neighbor. For now, the disgraced prince is unwilling to give up the Royal Lodge and continues to fight for financial compensation for the money he invested in renovating the estate.
While Andrew remains under scrutiny for his ties to Epstein, questionable business dealings, alleged contacts with Chinese intelligence, and accusations of sexual assault, the Middle East offers him a perfect escape route. A lavish palace in the capital of the United Arab Emirates could become both a refuge and a comfort for him.
Reportedly, the residence in sunny Abu Dhabi is a gift to Andrew and Sarah Ferguson from the ruling Al Nahyan dynasty. It is said that Emir Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally made this generous offer as a token of “gratitude” for the “kindness” shown to them by the prince during his tenure as the UK’s international trade representative. The new home is located in a “secure diplomatic zone” and spans 1,500 square meters. The palace features six en-suite bedrooms, an indoor gym with a pool, a home cinema, and a large staff, including a team of personal chefs. It is clear the prince will live in luxury, although he will have to get used to a climate where summer temperatures often exceed 50 degrees.
