The management of Telecinco has decided to end the broadcast of ‘Socialité’ in an effort to improve weekend audience figures. The program has been replaced by ‘¡Vaya fama!’, which focuses on society news with a provocative and ironic style.
However, the launch of the new format was unsuccessful: the morning broadcast drew only a 7.2% audience share, amounting to 381,000 viewers. In the following weeks, public interest continued to decline, and on the eve of this report, the rating dropped to 6.7%. At the same time, the competing show ‘D Corazón’ on TVE again surpassed Telecinco in viewership.
In response to these results, Mediaset decided to bring in one of the most notable participants from its reality shows. The channel now hopes that the appearance of Montoya, finalist of ‘Supervivientes 2025’ and former contestant of ‘La isla de las tentaciones’, will help turn things around. In the new program, he will take on the role of a full-fledged reporter, not just a guest.
For Montoya, a native of Seville, this marks another step in his professional career. He is expanding his experience by joining the ‘¡Vaya fama!’ team. The appointment was announced by the program’s hosts, Fran Ramírez and Cristina Lasviñes. Montoya himself expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and noted that he is interested in working with people and learning the latest news first-hand.
The new reporter emphasized his intention to approach his work with enthusiasm while respecting the privacy of public figures. He noted that he hopes his easygoing personality will help him obtain interesting comments from celebrities. Montoya’s first assignment in his new role will be covering the wedding of Cayetano Martínez de Irujo, scheduled for October 4.
