In September 2025, at the IAA Mobility International Motor Show in Munich, BMW will unveil its new line of electric vehicles under the name ‘Neue Klasse.’ The centerpiece will be the public debut of the BMW iX3, the first model of this generation, showcasing the brand’s key technological advancements.
The BMW iX3 demonstrates significant progress in electromobility, digital solutions, design, and sustainability. The model features advanced visualization systems, enhanced connectivity, and new technologies aimed at increasing efficiency and comfort. The company notes that ‘Neue Klasse’ innovations will also be implemented in future BMW vehicles, regardless of powertrain type.
Alongside the iX3, visitors to the BMW stand in Munich will be able to see other models from the brand. The open-air display will feature the electric BMW i4, i5, i7, and iX, as well as the hybrid BMW X3 30e xDrive and the BMW M5 Touring with plug-in hybrid drive. MINI enthusiasts will have a chance to check out two new JCW concepts, which will make their debut at a special MINI site on Lenbachplatz.
BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division, will also participate in the show, presenting the electric scooters BMW CE 02 and CE 04. These models target urban mobility, highlighting the company’s commitment to developing eco-friendly transport solutions for cities.
The exhibition will place special emphasis on BMW’s historical legacy. At the center of the display will be the BMW 1500—the first car of the original ‘Neue Klasse’ series, which debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1961. This very model marked the starting point for BMW’s transformation into one of the world’s leading premium car manufacturers. In addition, the stand will showcase modern models such as the BMW M5 Touring, BMW X3 20d xDrive, and the hydrogen-powered BMW iX5 Hydrogen.
At the exhibition, BMW Charging will debut its bidirectional charging technology, available for the BMW iX3. This system not only allows the car to be charged from the grid but also to feed energy back—for example, to power a home electrical network or support public infrastructure. BMW specialists will discuss options for public charging and new sustainable energy offerings for electric vehicle owners.
In this way, BMW’s participation in IAA Mobility 2025 highlights the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, as well as demonstrating a wide range of solutions for the future of urban and individual mobility.
