The Asociación Moza d’Asturies has reported two further incidents at its Oviedo stand, a week after five people were detained over an assault on its members.
The Asociación Moza d’Asturies (AMA) has reported two further incidents at its stand in Oviedo, just a week after two of its activists were assaulted during the San Mateo celebrations. A group removed the antiracist banner twice during the same night. Another person threw a glass into the stand and shouted a remark about whether the act could constitute a hate crime.
The association has reported the incidents to the Policía Nacional and wants investigators to establish who was responsible and whether the events were linked to the five people detained over the earlier assault. AMA says the latest acts were intended to intimidate people defending human rights.

The group will still hold its planned demonstration at 19.00 in Oviedo’s Plaza del Ayuntamiento against what it calls far-right hatred.
The new reports came as the court imposed restrictions on the five detainees from the original incident. The Juzgado de Instrucción Número 3 de Oviedo ordered their provisional release and banned them from approaching the victims within 200 metres. It rejected the requirement to report to court on the 1st and 15th of every month after finding that all five had known homes and established ties in Oviedo.
The Fiscalía del Principado de Asturias had sought a 200-metre exclusion zone around the victims, a ban on any communication during the proceedings and regular appearances before the court.

The case remains under investigation.
The Fiscalía attributes two offences of causing injury to the detainees, one classified as less serious, as well as a possible hate crime pending the development of the proceedings. That legal assessment is not a final judgment and will depend on the evidence gathered during the investigation.
The original confrontation took place on 11 September. According to the account cited by AMA and the police, the young people first tore away a strip bearing the LGBT rainbow symbol from the stand. They then insulted the activists, using expressions against left-wing people and gay men, along with slogans associated with Spanish nationalism. A police commander described the subsequent assault as sudden and said one man was attacked while the activists tried to defend themselves.
AMA has also rejected comments attributed to the detainees’ lawyers describing them as young people from «good families». The association questioned remarks attributed to Oviedo mayor Alfredo Canteli suggesting that the aggressors were not especially bad people.
The group has further blamed parties such as Vox for statements made after the assault. Asked in Oviedo whether he condemned the violence, Vox leader Santiago Abascal referred instead to alleged violent language from left-wing officials and said that people who behave in that way later face consequences.
The two new incidents have given the dispute a second phase: damage to the stand and a glass thrown inside it after the earlier arrests. AMA has responded with a public concentration while police examine whether the latest acts are connected to the first case.
The new episodes remain allegations under investigation, not proof of a coordinated campaign. Police must examine each incident separately, protect the activists and leave any criminal responsibility to the court.
