Sevilla FC Sale: Sergio Ramos and Five Eleven Capital Reach Agreement. Sergio Ramos and Five Eleven Capital are close to acquiring Sevilla FC. The deal is valued at €450 million, including the club’s debts. Final approval will depend on the authorization of Spanish sports authorities.

A major deal to change the ownership of Sevilla FC is nearing completion: Sergio Ramos and the investment group Five Eleven Capital have reached an agreement with the club's main shareholders to purchase it for 450 million euros, including debt obligations. The signing of all documents is expected to take place in the coming days, but the final word rests with the Consejo Superior de Deportes — without its approval, the transaction cannot proceed.

The parties have agreed not only on the amount but also on the payment schedule, which will depend on whether the team remains in the top division or drops to the Segunda. According to RUSSPAIN, the investors have provided the necessary financial guarantees to convince the current owners of the seriousness of their intentions. If the deal is approved, the new owners will have to carry out an additional share issue totaling between 80 and 100 million euros — these funds are intended to help stabilize the club's finances and increase the wage cap, which in recent seasons has become one of the reasons for the club's struggle for survival.

The role of sports authorities

In Spain, the purchase of 25% or more of a sports society's shares requires mandatory approval from the Consejo Superior de Deportes. The law provides for this measure to verify the reliability of investors and protect the interests of the club. In the case of Sevilla FC, this stage has become the last formal barrier: all other conditions have already been agreed, and the draft contracts were prepared in advance.

The LOI (Letter of Intent) signed in January between Ramos, Five Eleven Capital, and the shareholders expires on May 31. That is why the parties have sped up the process to meet the deadline and avoid postponing the deal indefinitely. After the main documents are signed, a number of additional procedures related to registration and changes in the capital structure will need to be completed.

Context and fan reaction

The acceleration of the negotiations has sparked mixed reactions among Sevilla FC fans. Many are surprised that the issue of the club's ownership change is being decided while the team is still fighting to stay in La Liga. In the coming days, the club faces a difficult match against Villarreal, with about 600 fans traveling to support the team. Against this backdrop, some fans believe that the current shareholders are trying to close the deal before the end of the season without waiting for clarity on the sporting results.

The situation with Sevilla FC is reminiscent of recent events in Spanish football: previously, Real Oviedo also drew attention after being relegated from La Liga and facing internal conflicts, as detailed in the report on the end of the season for Real Oviedo.

What’s next

If the Consejo Superior de Deportes gives its approval, Sergio Ramos and Five Eleven Capital will officially become the new owners of Sevilla FC. In the near future, the club will have to address not only financial issues, but also determine its development strategy amid the uncertainty of staying in the Primera. If the sporting authorities refuse, the deal will collapse and the club will have to look for other ways out of the difficult economic situation.
