A Barcelona court has ordered an 18-year-old linked to the violent digital group Blocus into provisional detention without bail. The judge cited indications of a conspiracy to cause public disorder and alleged membership of a criminal group.

The Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Cataluña (TSJC) said the suspect appeared before Barcelona's Juzgado de Instrucción número 14 on Sunday, 1 November, after being arrested on Friday. The judge ordered provisional detention, communicated and without bail. The decision is a pretrial measure, not a criminal conviction.

The magistrate cited indications of conspiracy to commit public disorder and membership of a criminal group. The TSJC described the 18-year-old as an alleged online ideologue of an organised group. RUSSPAIN has also covered other Blocus arrests. Mossos d'Esquadra reportedly accused him of helping to organise a Telegram group that encouraged looting; he was the third of four arrests made in Catalonia in connection with the 24 October disturbances.

El País reported that around 30 businesses were looted and that 133 people were arrested in connection with the disturbances, including 89 minors. The newspaper also reported indications that the network was active in 18 localities across 11 Spanish autonomous communities. On 31 October, Mossos arrested a 21-year-old man in Cabrera d'Anoia over alleged links to the Blocus channel and coordination of vandalism.

Separately, authorities ordered closed-regime internment for a minor arrested in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia in connection with Blocus. That juvenile measure is distinct from the adult suspect’s provisional detention.
