The Flax-Type uses flax fibre grown at Diddly Squat Farm for its body panels. The one-off won a prize in Tuscany, while Clarkson’s Farm special is not due on Amazon Prime until well into 2027.

Jeremy Clarkson and Ian Callum based the Flax-Type on a first-generation Jaguar F-Type Roadster with a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 rated at 380 CV. The one-off won second place in the “Restomod” category at Villa La Massa Excellence in Tuscany in October 2026, where it featured among the event’s star cars. Its name combines the F-Type with flax, the plant used for its composite bodywork.

Its custom body panels are made from flax fibres grown at Diddly Squat Farm, Clarkson’s 400-hectare property in Oxfordshire. The project explores flax-fibre composite as an alternative material for automotive panels. Custom bodywork widens the wheel arches and reshapes the front bumper, which also features aerodynamic flaps. Bronze detailing contrasts with the five-spoke star-design alloy wheels, while high-profile tyres suit the farm’s terrain.

Inside, the tan leather comes from cattle raised on the farm, and the floor mats use wool from Clarkson’s flock. The cabin also features tweed-related trim. The exterior is painted «Tonga Green», with tractor-shaped badges and a «Flax-Type» inscription on the boot; a tractor is also embroidered on the headrests.

It is a single-car restomod project, not a production Jaguar model. It remains far removed from fleet procurement covered in the Italian Grenadier report.

Automotive YouTuber Varryx filmed Clarkson behind the wheel at the Tuscan event. The standalone special «Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson's Farm Special» is scheduled for release in 2027 on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and is not due to reach Amazon Prime until well into that year. The programme will follow how farm materials were grown and incorporated into the Jaguar project.
