Eva González appeared on the La Voz set with a Bardot fringe, a style she last wore more than twenty years ago. This time, she gave it a modern twist to suit her current image.
For her eighth season hosting the Antena 3 talent show, González chose a high, wavy ponytail with a Bardot-style fringe. She used a hairpiece rather than scissors, keeping her long brown hair. Named after Brigitte Bardot, the fringe has a soft shape and gentle center part that bring a classic look up to date.
The new season of La Voz premiered on 18 September 2026, with González returning as host alongside coaches Mika, Lola Índigo, Melendi and Pablo López. It drew an average of about 1.1 million viewers and more than 3.3 million unique viewers, information from official Atresmedia reports. The show led Friday night prime time, but independent publications described the premiere as the lowest-rated in the history of the Spanish version, reflecting slower audience interest than in previous years.
Mª José Llata, president of Intercoiffure España and director of Peluquería Llata Carrera in Cantabria, says the Bardot fringe is "very multifunctional and suits almost every face shape." She suggests adding a slight curve for movement, then wearing it loose or swept to the side for more volume. The style works for a casual look or a more polished one.
González’s choice differs from the straight "Cher fringe" she wore in 2004. That style suits long faces, making the forehead look shorter and balancing the face. Charo García, director of Ilitia Beauty & Science in Balmaseda (Vizcaya), says a straight fringe needs to be blow-dried from above to keep it flat and sharp.
Since her early days on TV, González has rarely made major changes to her hair. She has kept her natural brown color, sometimes adding lighter or darker highlights without straying far from her usual look. Her styling has also remained simple: soft updos complement her makeup, while loose waves are usually worn with a side or center part. Bringing back the fringe, even as a hairpiece, is one of her few impressive beauty changes in recent years.
It is unclear whether González will cut a real fringe. Her peach-toned highlights suit her look, but she usually favors small changes over big ones.
