These efforts will target audiences nationally and internationally.
Born in 2000, Torres is from Foios, in the province of Valencia, and has represented Spain internationally. His club career has taken him from Valencia CF Mestalla to Valencia CF, followed by Manchester City and FC Barcelona. Listed as a forward, he is 1.82 metres tall and weighs 80 kilograms. LaLiga's record for the 2021/22 season credits him with 18 appearances and 17 starts. He played 1,417 minutes.
The signing is scheduled for noon. The Generalitat's plan puts Torres's sporting profile within a broader effort to showcase the Comunitat Valenciana's identity through culture and sport, with social initiatives also part of the campaign. After the Valencia ceremony, he is due in Foios at 18:00 for a public tribute. The town council has put up a banner at the town hall, while Emma García, Foios councillor for Sports and Citizen Participation, has spoken of the community's pride in his achievements.

His maternal grandfather, José Horacio García Montesinos, was born in Domecelle, in the municipality of Ourol in Galicia; members of the family later lived in Foios. Ourol mayor José Luis Pajón has said: “Not everyone has a world champion with roots in their municipality.”
