Samsung and Dominnico have created accessories for the new Galaxy Z range. A 149-euro Apple Folio appears in a retailer listing, but Apple has not officially confirmed the alleged iPhone Duo or the accessory. The phone is becoming part of the outfit.
Foldable phones are no longer meant to vanish inside a standard case or pocket. Samsung and Dominnico have turned the new Galaxy Z shapes into a waist bag, a mini shoulder bag and a belt. A 149-euro Apple Folio also appears in a retailer listing for the alleged iPhone Duo. Apple has not officially announced either the phone or the case. The changing proportions of these devices are starting to shape the things people use to carry and show them.
Samsung's second collaboration with Dominnico is built around "Unfold Your K-Side" and forms part of the designer's Spring 27 collection. The project has also included a pop-up in Seoul. The phone is not treated as a separate gadget here. Its dimensions, colours and folding mechanism become the starting point for fashion accessories. Samsung Newsroom Spain describes the project as a new take on the forms, sizes, colours and folding principle of Galaxy Z devices.
Samsung and DOMINNICO presented the collaboration in Madrid on 22 September 2026 as part of the DOMINNICO Spring 27 collection.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 inspired a compact satin pistachio waist bag. Several compartments, metallic details and a charm echo the device's passport-like proportions. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra appears as a lavender satin mini bag with a chain. Its large foldable form is set against an accessory that is deliberately small.
The smallest model takes the most direct route into clothing.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 has been built into a powder-pink belt with a small pocket for the device. When closed, the phone becomes much smaller. That change is used as part of the styling rather than treated as a technical detail. Pistachio, lavender and pink carry the phones' colour palette into Dominnico's accessories and connect the devices to the rest of an outfit.
The project is part of a broader Samsung–DOMINNICO effort to bring fashion, culture and technology together. Spanish coverage also notes that not all details of the collection had been disclosed when the project was presented.
Apple has taken a different route in claims about the same practical problem. The available evidence is thinner. The company is said to have presented the iPhone Duo as its first foldable phone, along with accessories made for its shape. But the accessible source is a retailer listing for an "Apple iPhone Duo Folio mit Standfuß - Taupe" priced at 149 euros. It is not an official Apple announcement. The listing says the Folio has an integrated stand that can hold the device at different angles. Apple has not confirmed the alleged phone or accessory.
The phone accessory market has long been built around a stable rectangle. Cases, wallets, stands, straps and charging systems have changed in materials and finishes, but their basic relationship with the phone has stayed much the same. A foldable creates new practical demands. It can be used open or closed, support itself at different angles and take up much less space when carried.
That gives fashion brands more to work with. Samsung and Dominnico started their partnership in March 2026 with a bag inspired by the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. The project later grew into a seven-piece capsule collection shown at 080 Barcelona Fashion. Camera modules, pockets and charms became design elements in the clothing and accessories.
Other manufacturers have tried more ambitious versions of the idea. Honor developed the V Purse as a foldable phone made to be carried over the shoulder with interchangeable straps and chains. The company then worked with Jimmy Choo on an edition of the Magic V Flip 2. Motorola has also pushed the Razr toward luxury accessories. This September, it presented a Swarovski edition decorated with 35 crystals, including a larger stone built into the hinge.
These products do not yet create a separate business category for foldable phone accessories. They do show that the old line between a device and its accessory is getting weaker. The strongest designs do more than protect a phone. They use its folding logic, smaller closed size and visible colour as part of a wider look. Samsung's work with Dominnico makes the shift easy to see. The foldable is becoming something to carry and a piece around which an outfit can be built. Sammy Fans also described the Madrid presentation as part of Samsung's move away from ordinary phone cases and toward fashion accessories.
