A race is planned for July 2027 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya under a proposed multi-season deal. Ticket prices and the sales opening date have not been announced.
A multi-season deal is in the works to add the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to IndyCar’s calendar for July 2027. Reports published on 19 October 2026 said the circuit and IndyCar had reached an agreement for a race at Montmeló, although the parties had not yet issued a joint official announcement. The proposed event is set to count toward the championship, rather than serve as a demonstration race.
There is no confirmed date for buying tickets. Sales have not started, and prices remain unannounced. The organisers have yet to publish the seating categories or confirm the race day; the weekend programme is also unpublished. July is the planned month, not a confirmed race date.
The Barcelona event is expected to be IndyCar’s first race outside North America since 2013 and the series’ only European round of the season. The planned addition comes as the Circuit reshapes its major-event programme after Formula 1 moved to hold the Spanish Grand Prix at the venue every other year.
Álex Palou is the championship’s Spanish connection. The Catalan driver is a five-time IndyCar champion, and the circuit is less than 30 kilometres from his hometown of Sant Antoni de Vilamajor. Reports have described Palou as a major draw for the Catalan event.
Fans can check the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya website for event and ticket updates. Separately, RUSSPAIN has covered Omoda’s use of music to reach younger audiences through its Ana Mena partnership.
Organisers have yet to set a ticket-sale date, with July 2027 still the planned timing.
