Architect Joaquín Torres has listed his family mansion in Pozuelo de Alarcón for nearly €15 million. Set in the exclusive Las Encinas development, the property spans more than 2,800 square meters on a 10,000-square-meter plot. The sale follows a period of mourning and a high-profile separation from Raúl Prieto. Torres is now focusing on his relationship with his sons, Manuel and Álvaro.
In statements to Vanitatis, Torres said the sale came after months of legal work to ensure the property was free of encumbrances. He designed the mansion at 25, working with his father, Juan Torres Piñón. The estate has long symbolized the family's social ascent. With both parents now deceased, but, it no longer serves its original purpose for the family.
Recent images shared by Torres show him enjoying relaxed moments at sea with his son Álvaro, reflecting the close bond he maintains with his children from his previous marriage to Mercedes Rodríguez. Pozuelo de Alarcón is known for its affluent residents and proximity to Madrid, making it a sought-after location for high-net-worth buyers. The National Statistics Institute (INE), in its 2026 Urban Indicators report, ranked Pozuelo second among Spanish municipalities with more than 20,000 residents for average home-sale price in 2025: €907,270. It ranked behind Calvià at €981,485 and ahead of Santa Eulària des Riu at €888,800. Those figures reflect average completed sales across the municipality, not asking prices for individual estates. INE also recorded the country's highest average monthly expenditure on habitual-home rent in Pozuelo in 2024, at €1,499.
Household data also reflect the municipality's high-income profile: figures from INE's Household Income Distribution Atlas, reported by EFE, put Pozuelo's average net annual income at €32,612 per resident in 2024. In Madrid's luxury market, a 2026 Colliers study cited by Inmodiario counted 176 new-build homes priced above €2 million, including 72 above €5 million. The report placed 24 properties, or 14% of the analyzed supply, in its “Trophy” category of homes above €10 million. Its most expensive new-build listing was €17.88 million. These market benchmarks put a €15 million asking price within the capital's top-end luxury segment.
Spain's luxury property sector has seen steady demand in recent years, particularly in Madrid's upscale suburbs.
