Kia has renewed its best-selling Xceed in Spain with a new exterior, updated cabin technology and petrol or mild-hybrid power. Discounts reduce the starting price to €19,860.

More than 5,000 Xceed units have sold in Spain so far this year. That gives the model 11% of Kia's Spanish sales. One Spanish report puts the figure at 4,372, so the available estimates do not fully match.

The discounted starting price is €19,860. The range includes petrol and mild-hybrid engines with up to 180 CV.

According to Kia Europe, the 180 PS version of the 1.6 T-GDI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Kia Europe

Kia introduced the Xceed in 2019. It received an exterior and technology update in 2022. This latest work is deeper and brings the crossover closer to Kia's newer Opposites United design language.

Production stays in Europe at Kia's factory in Slovenia. That keeps the Xceed among the brand's most European models.

The raised driving position remains. So do the sportier proportions. At the front, Kia has changed the bonnet and bumper. The radiator, air intake and tiger nose grille now sit within a revised structure.

New headlights and side wings add to the change. The Starmap light signature also gives the Xceed a clearer link to other Kia models.

The Xceed measures 4,380 millimetres in length, around 150 millimetres shorter than the previous version, although Kia says the model retains its dimensions. New 16-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels provide another visual difference.

Spanish automotive publications list four trim levels for the Spanish range: Concept, Drive, Tech and Emotion. The crossover retains a 2,650-millimetre wheelbase, helping preserve its compact but practical positioning.

The cabin gets more than a light cosmetic touch. Kia has improved the dashboard materials and fitted a sportier gear selector. Depending on the trim, buyers can choose cloth, vegan leather or a mix of both.

Boot space remains one of the Xceed's practical points. Petrol versions offer 426 litres, or up to 1,378 litres with the rear seats folded. The MHEV version offers 380 litres.

That is enough for daily use.

Two 12.3-inch screens handle the main displays. One serves as the digital instrument cluster. The other is a central navigation monitor. Kia says the layout makes driving information easier to read and vehicle functions easier to reach.

The equipment list also includes Highway Driving Assist, known as HDA. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, or BCA, is available too. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, or RCCA, is part of the updated assistance package.

The engine range covers several needs. The 1.0-litre T-GDI produces 115 CV with a manual gearbox. A seven-speed 7DCT is available with mild-hybrid technology.

The 1.6-litre T-GDI comes with either 150 CV or 180 CV. Both versions use the same 7DCT transmission. Kia Europe's model information confirms front-wheel drive, petrol and mild-hybrid powertrains, plus the 180 PS version.

Spain also gets versions with the ECO label. The smaller engine and mild-hybrid options are aimed at buyers who want a raised driving position without stepping up to a larger vehicle.

Kia has revised the rear suspension as well. Engineers worked on noise, vibration and harshness levels. The stated goal is a quieter ride, with particular attention to passengers in the back.

Normal and Sport modes now have a clearer difference. Normal focuses on relaxed driving. Sport gives the car a more responsive feel.

Technology is part of that update.

For readers tracking the wider role of technology in transport, an earlier technology report shows how quickly practical features can become the central point of a vehicle or mission story. In the Xceed, Kia connects the technology to visibility, parking assistance and fewer driving distractions.

The Spanish range is listed with four trim levels: Concept, Drive, Tech and Emotion. The 2,650-millimetre wheelbase remains, according to Spanish automotive publications. That helps preserve the compact but useful layout.

Kia's European model page confirms the front-wheel-drive layout, the 7DCT gearbox and the 1.6 T-GDI with 180 PS. Spanish prices vary by promotion and market conditions. The €19,860 figure applies to the discounted Spanish offer.

The Xceed keeps its basic formula. Buyers get a compact crossover, petrol and mild-hybrid engines, updated assistance systems and up to 180 CV. The lower promotional price gives the model a stronger position in Spain.

Kia has changed plenty. The everyday shape remains.
