The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled for 19 July at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, not Madrid. The published schedule sets a 3 p.m. Eastern Time kickoff, equivalent to 9 p.m. in mainland Spain. A public screening in Madrid would be a separate event from the match itself.
The tournament is scheduled to run from 11 June through 19 July across Canada and Mexico, with the United States also hosting matches. FIFA’s expanded format brings the field to 48 teams and schedules 104 matches across 16 host cities. The final venue is also commonly known as MetLife Stadium.
Spain and Argentina appear together in some projected versions of the tournament bracket, but a scheduled fixture list cannot establish in advance which teams will reach the final. The published schedule places Spain’s group-stage match against Uruguay in Guadalajara on 26 June. Later knockout listings show France against Spain in Dallas on 14 July and England against Argentina in Atlanta on 15 July.
The Madrid locations cited for public viewing include Plaza de Colón and Puente del Rey, with Movistar Arena also named. Proposed street closures would be local measures, as would changes to Metro service and EMT routes. The final itself is scheduled to take place thousands of kilometres away in New Jersey.

The 2026 tournament is the first men’s World Cup hosted by three countries. The 16 host cities span Canada and Mexico, as well as the United States, while the final is assigned to East Rutherford. Madrid may mark the occasion with separate public viewing, but it is not the venue for the World Cup final.
