Mercedes-Benz has revealed a major update for its best-selling Clase C, introducing a striking new design, advanced digital features, and a plug-in hybrid option with up to 395 HP and 100 km electric range. Orders have opened in Germany.
The 2027 Mercedes-Benz Clase C has been officially revealed, marking the most significant transformation for the brand’s flagship sedan in years. After the recent debut of the all-electric version, Mercedes now turns its attention to the core of its lineup, delivering a comprehensive redesign that blends tradition with cutting-edge technology.
Externally, the new Clase C stands out with a sharper front and rear, highlighted by a redesigned grille that connects seamlessly to the headlights via a black trim. Both the front and rear lights now feature the signature star-shaped illumination, while two new paint options and alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches add further distinction. The update is not just cosmetic—Mercedes has focused on refining the car’s proportions and presence without losing the recognizable silhouette that has defined the model since 1982.
Interior and Technology
Stepping inside, drivers are greeted by an animated projection of the Mercedes logo on the ground, a subtle but striking detail. The cabin itself balances elegance and innovation, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen, a redesigned multifunction steering wheel, and the latest generation of the MBUX multimedia system powered by artificial intelligence. The new MB.OS operating system supports up to 10 cameras, five radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, enabling a suite of advanced driver assistance features that can be tailored depending on the chosen package.

Powertrains and Efficiency
The mechanical lineup has been overhauled to meet future European regulations. All engines are now four-cylinder and electrified, available in both petrol and diesel variants. Petrol options start at 177 HP and go up to 258 HP, while diesels range from 163 to 200 HP. The highlight is the plug-in hybrid, which combines a petrol engine with an electric motor for a total output of 395 HP and 650 Nm of torque. Its 19.53 kWh battery enables up to 100 kilometers of pure electric driving, making it one of the most capable hybrids in its class.
Mercedes-Benz has already opened orders for the new Clase C in Germany, with a starting price of €48,884. Spanish pricing is expected to be announced soon, likely at a premium over the German market. First deliveries are scheduled for the end of the year, as Mercedes completes a sweeping renewal of its most important model family.
This move comes as the competition in the electrified and hybrid segment intensifies.
