OMODA plans to bring the X to Spanish dealers in 2027, with three electrified powertrain choices and off-road figures unusual for a crossover. Battery sizes have been disclosed, while official range and Spanish pricing remain unpublished.
At its global debut, the OMODA X was credited with more than 700mm of water-wading capability and a towing limit of 1,800kg. Carsifu also reported 200mm of ground clearance, while the roof can carry up to 75kg. Those figures stand out for a crossover, though the brand has yet to confirm whether the production model will have all-wheel drive.
That remains a key unknown.
OMODA says the X will reach Spanish dealerships in 2027. The model made its global debut on 20 October 2026 at OMODA X Night, part of the Chery Group International User Summit in Wuhu, Anhui province, China. The company presents it as its first crossover with a pronounced off-road focus, built around its “Cross Off-Road” concept. It is positioned below the OMODA 9 in the brand’s line-up, entering territory associated within the Chery group with JAECOO, which shares dealerships with OMODA. The Seat Exeo story is a reminder of another Spanish-market car launch, though the X is aimed at a very different segment.
The X sits near the boundary between the C and D segments. It measures 4,654mm long and 1,920mm wide. Height is 1,702mm, with a 2,700mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 200mm; roof loading is rated at 75kg. OMODA says the vehicle can tow a caravan or carry bikes on the roof, but those headline figures do not establish its off-road ability without confirmation of the drivetrain. The launch specifications also include 19-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.
Three powertrains are planned. The battery-electric version (BEV) is listed with a 74kWh battery. A plug-in hybrid (PHEV) is expected to use a 20kWh pack, while a conventional hybrid (HEV) completes the range; the HEV has been reported at more than 200bhp. Chery has not yet released full production specifications, including power or range. Charging times have not been disclosed either. Spanish prices are also unannounced.
Design details include 19-inch black wheels and Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tyres. The angular bodywork uses OMODA’s ‘Crossvolution’ design language, with a robotic style the brand calls “Mecha”. It also claims the Progloss Plus Clearcoat paint can resist scratches and repair itself.
The cabin includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 13.2-inch central screen. OMODA calls the driver’s area Mecha Starship Cockpit; a thermal-vision system is said to detect objects up to 90 metres ahead at night. Motor1 also reported 39 storage compartments in the cabin. The brand has not confirmed whether all these features will be offered on the Spanish-market production model.
