At the Teatro Real in Madrid, Queen Letizia wore the DelPozo gown first seen in 2017. She had also chosen it for her 2018 meeting with Emmanuel Macron and the 2020 Princess of Asturias Awards.

The XXX Cumbre Iberoamericana de Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno brought leaders from the 22 countries of the Comunidad Iberoamericana to Madrid on 4 and 5 November 2026. Its official theme was “Iberoamérica. Juntos construimos nuestra Comunidad. Juntos la proyectamos hacia el futuro y hacia el mundo.” The opening ceremony took place at the Teatro Real, followed by a welcome dinner at the Palacio Real hosted by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez joined the official inauguration, presided over by the King and Queen.

Queen Letizia hosted the event in a midnight-blue DelPozo gown designed by Josep Font for the Pre-Fall 2017 collection. It has a Bardot neckline and a raised flower on the right side of the chest. Three-quarter sleeves and a fitted midi skirt complete the design.

A gown with a French connection

Letizia first wore the dress at the Premios As del deporte in Madrid on 4 December 2017. The following year, she brought it back for her first official meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, held on 5 October 2018.

The gown appeared again at the Premios Princesa de Asturias in Oviedo in 2020. Its return broke Letizia’s tradition of wearing Felipe Varela designs for the awards. At the Madrid summit, she wore it once more.

Blue accessories and heirloom jewellery

She paired the dress with navy slingback shoes by Magrit and a matching clutch. Her jewellery stayed within the blue palette: a sapphire and diamond bracelet she first wore in 2019, along with aquamarine earrings by Aldao.

Letizia received the earrings from her husband after the birth of her eldest daughter. Princess Leonor later wore them at the 2023 Premios Princesa de Asturias. The Queen finished the look with her Coreterno ring.
