‘Close Friends’ features candidates for the next Benidorm Fest. ‘Memes y dramas’ arrives on 22 October as EN PLAY’s second season expands its youth programming.
EN PLAY’s second season opened on 13 October 2026, with live programming running Monday to Thursday from 16:00 to 00:00, up to eight hours a day. The two new Playz videopodcasts sit in the youth-focused part of that schedule. RTVE Play has added ‘Close Friends’ and ‘Memes y dramas’ to the lineup, bringing creators and artists into formats built around personal stories.
The first special is tied to Benidorm Fest. Scheduled for Wednesday 14 October, ‘Close Friends’ will interview candidates for the next edition after the artists are announced, and capture their first impressions. Dani Gordo and Alfon de la Rocha host the programme. The pair previously worked together on ‘Vaya Vaina’.
RTVE Play is making ‘Close Friends’ with Jaleo Producciones. The format takes the social-media idea of a “Best Friends” list into the studio: each guest appears with someone who knew them before fame, such as a longtime friend or former classmate. Interviews and games draw out memories and personal stories, giving artists and digital creators a less formal setting. Academia de Televisión describes the format as a way to show a more personal side of artists and online creators.
The guest’s old friend may have stories viewers have never heard.
The launch came during a busy stretch for Spanish screen programming. The sixth Día del cine español took Jaime Chávarri’s El desencanto to more than fifty cities, as a separate report noted. EN PLAY’s live schedule runs Monday to Thursday, 16:00 to 00:00. It also includes new entertainment programmes and videopodcasts, alongside returning presenters and new contributors.
‘Memes y dramas’ is set to arrive on 22 October. Marina Rivers and Rubén Avilés lead the group format, joined by friends and celebrity collaborators to talk about everyday experiences and generational dramas. The show also takes on intrusive thoughts. RTVE Play is producing it with Kokoro Content, with discussion and humour at the centre of its take on daily life and concerns shared by younger generations.
Among its segments, Hot Takes de Barrio gets its own slot. Quién dijo eso is another feature, followed by Con C de Cultura (o de Caos). The programme also includes personal dilemmas. Both shows join Playz’s original-content offer for young audiences on RTVE Play.
