RTVE has released behind-the-scenes footage from “El Telediario de nuestras vidas,” filmed at Torrespaña for the broadcaster’s 70th anniversary. The 45-minute special airs on La 1 on Monday 19 October at 21:00.

The 45-minute edition of Telediario 2 will revisit stories spanning RTVE’s 70-year history. It airs as “El Telediario de nuestras vidas” on La 1 on Monday 19 October at 21:00. Viewers can also watch on Canal 24 Horas and RTVE Play. RTVE Noticias’ YouTube channel will carry the programme, which will also be available on RTVE’s website.

TVE began regular broadcasts on 28 October 1956.

RTVE’s making-of footage shows the journalists during the shoot. Pepa Bueno, the news programme’s current presenter, hosted the special. RTVE journalist Carlos del Amor developed the concept, and Antonio Casado directed it. Former and current journalists present archive stories about major events from the past seven decades.

The participants included Iñaki Gabilondo and Matías Prats. Carlos Franganillo and Pedro Piqueras also took part, as did Ana Blanco and Olga Viza. María Escario appeared alongside Manuel Campo Vidal. Paco Montesdeoca and Lorenzo Milá completed the group. Some have retired; others now work for rival broadcasters. RTVE described the reunion as a meeting of journalists from different generations, with each contributing an individual report. Viewers could also vote in an RTVE Play Participa poll on the most significant events in the programme’s history.

The reunion had been previewed in an earlier report. RTVE has now released footage from the recording. The original idea came from Carlos del Amor, with Antonio Casado directing. The broadcaster called it an unprecedented special of Telediario 2 and promoted it with several trailers, including one titled “Reservoir Dogs”.

RTVE also released behind-the-scenes footage from a Telediario broadcast in Robledillo de la Jara, in the Community of Madrid, last Thursday, 15 October. The village square, named Televisión Española, became a large studio for the live edition. Journalists worked alongside camera crews as local residents watched from the square. Alejandra Herranz presented the broadcast, which formed part of RTVE’s 70th-anniversary events.
