David Broncano reached Shakira at Macondo Park with about 15 minutes to spare. A late confirmation, a flight to catch and a moving interview location shaped the episode.

The production team was already working against the clock when David Broncano reached Macondo Park. He had arrived just before boarding a flight for a personal matter. By the time Shakira appeared, La Revuelta had almost no time left to use the interview in full.

The booking was expected to be one of the programme's major moments. Instead, it became a scramble inside the venue created for Shakira's 13 concerts in Madrid, with Broncano's team trying to turn uncertainty into an episode.

Macondo Park was conceived by Shakira as a mini-city bringing together different Latin American cultures. The Iberdrola Music venue can accommodate approximately 55,000 spectators.

Shakira's delay became part of the story.

While the singer was still absent, Broncano and Jorge Ponce drove around the venue in a small vehicle and spoke with workers. Broncano openly questioned whether the material would reach television at all or end up as a short social media video. The programme had secured its most sought-after guest without securing enough time for a conventional conversation.

The squeeze began before the cameras moved. Shakira's team confirmed the interview only the previous day. The timing had to fit around the recording scheduled at the Teatro Albéniz, while Broncano also had to leave for the airport. La 1 left the theatre and headed for Macondo Park rather than abandon the opportunity.

The Madrid residency began with 12 planned performances, but strong demand led to the addition of a final date. The result was a 13-concert run starting on 18 September.

That decision produced a format built almost entirely from improvisation. Once Shakira reached the stadium, the conversation moved through the venue and its unusual details. They discussed the purpose of the new stadium and the guests at the final concert. The exchange then drifted toward horoscopes, fossil shops in Madrid and portable toilets. Shakira also described the scale of the touring operation: around 150 workers and 40 trucks move the production equipment in the United States, according to coverage of the interview.

The exchange ended in Catalan. Shakira explained that she uses the language with her children in Miami when she does not want their friends to understand them. She then asked Broncano whether he spoke Catalan because of a former Catalan girlfriend. That prompted a clear reference to the parallel between their personal experiences and her past relationship with Gerard Piqué.

A viral financial exchange followed. Shakira said that she earns a great deal but spends a great deal as well, ultimately remaining more or less even. Broncano reacted skeptically, pointing to the scale of 13 concerts and an audience capacity of roughly 50,000 people.

Few major headlines came from the conversation. Its structure said more than a polished celebrity interview would have done. The booking nearly collapsed in real time: confirmation arrived late, the location kept moving, the guest was absent and Broncano was watching the clock. The final exchange was assembled from whatever could fit.

The episode also differs from an earlier celebrity report because it was not built around a commercial announcement or a prepared reveal. Its value came from exposing the failed choreography behind the booking.

RTVE's official recording of the 8 October 2026 episode confirms that Broncano travelled to Macondo Park for his first conversation with Shakira rather than interviewing her in the studio. The broadcaster presents the exchange as touching on the world tour, the conversational code she uses with her children and the influence of Gabriel García Márquez. The episode's strongest material came from the uncertainty surrounding the booking. Its limitations became the structure of the broadcast.
