Toledo’s annual used car fair is back, packing more than 500 vehicles and nearly every local dealer into one spot. Shoppers get a huge range of models, instant financing, and plenty of family activities all weekend.
Over 500 used cars will fill Toledo’s La Peraleda fairgrounds from October 1 to 4. This is the twentieth Feria del Vehículo de Ocasión, and almost every dealership in the city is taking part. With 90% of local dealers on board, buyers will find everything from budget hatchbacks to nearly new hybrids in one place. Independent reports from El Español and Diariovasco call this fair one of the biggest in the region. Toledo has become a major center for used car sales in Castilla-La Mancha.
Prices start at about 10,000 euros. Most cars will be listed between 20,000 and 30,000 euros. María Ángeles Fernández, president of the Asociación de Concesionarios y Talleres de Reparación de Toledo, says the fair is set up to make buying easy. Buyers can get insurance and financing right at the event. Every car comes with a warranty. Many people could drive home in their new car the same day. The fair opens officially on October 1 at 11:30. The grounds will be open daily from 10:00 to 21:00 for all four days, according to El Digital Castilla-La Mancha.
The upper price limit for vehicles at the fair reaches up to 100,000 euros, offering options for both budget-conscious and premium buyers.
The fair is more than just car sales. Organizers have planned family activities to keep things lively. Saturday afternoon will have a special inflatable play area for kids. On Sunday morning, there’s a hands-on animation workshop. Live music is set for the weekend. Jazz Trío will play Friday night, and DJ Nuno Rodríguez will take over on Saturday. Food trucks will be there every day, serving special menus for visitors.
This year’s fair comes as the used car market is bouncing back. National sales in August hit 68,000 vehicles. That’s a 14.8% jump and the best August since 2019. New car sales are also up, with 1.2 million units sold in the last year—matching pre-pandemic numbers. Toledo stands out in the region, making up 42% of all vehicle registrations in Castilla-La Mancha. It ranks second in Spain for used car deals, just behind Madrid. For every new car sold, 1.8 used cars change hands. This ratio comes from recent GANVAM data cited by Car and Driver España.
But Spain’s car fleet is getting old. Only 15% of used cars sold are between one and five years old. About 40% of cars on the road are over 15 years old. Fernández has called for a national renewal plan, linking old cars to emissions and road safety problems. Diesel models still make up 45% of the used market, even though experts predicted their decline back in 2019. Electric cars now account for 22% of sales, and hybrids for 27%. This shift matches other recent reports, including the reported earlier rise in hybrid reliability in Spain.
According to Flexicar’s August 2026 analytics, the average price of a used car in Spain reached 15,770 euros, marking a 1.96% increase from July and highlighting a general upward trend in the second-hand market.
Rising fuel prices are also changing how people buy cars. Higher running costs are making many buyers rethink their choices. Even with these challenges, Fernández says the auto sector is still strong, with good economic prospects and competitive pay. The real problem, she says, is a shortage of skilled workers. It’s now as tough to find staff as it is in construction. She urges young people, especially women, to look at automotive careers through vocational training. She calls it a secure and well-paid path.
The Feria del Vehículo de Ocasión in Toledo is more than a sales event. It’s a snapshot of the region’s car market and shows how the industry is changing.
