The city of Tres Cantos has unveiled an expanded programme for its 35th anniversary San Juan patronal festival, running from 18 to 24 June. This year’s edition stands out for its packed schedule of free concerts, outdoor performances and family activities, spread across multiple city venues. The festival officially opened with a speech by Luis Miguel Montero, director of the Centro Cultural Adolfo Suárez, and a performance by the renowned Orquesta Panorama, setting the tone for a week where music takes centre stage.
Among the headline acts, Dani Fernández will perform on Friday at 23:00 on the main stage, while the popular Valladolid group Siloé is set to take over Saturday night at the same hour. Both concerts are expected to draw large crowds, reflecting the festival’s focus on live music and community participation. The programme also features a strong presence of orchestras, with Orquesta Maxims, Orquesta Diamante and Orquesta Atlántida scheduled throughout the weekend, alongside DJ sets from Sofía Cristo, Sergio Blasco, Rubén Lone and DJ Maggie.
Beyond music, the festival offers a diverse range of cultural and family-friendly events. Puppet shows by companies such as Títeres con cabeza, Arte Fusión, El retablo de la Ventana and Okarino Trapisonda are planned each morning in different city sectors. Dance schools, circus acts and traditional Asturian festivities, including the 'Jira' with inflatable attractions, add to the variety. The popular paella event returns on Saturday evening, with portions available for three euros in the plaza de la Familia.
Sunday’s schedule includes the international act Coffe Lovers and a pyromusical show, Vulcanum, at the central park lake. Monday and Tuesday evenings are dedicated to local bands, dance performances and the traditional San Juan bonfire, with a sequence of fire jugglers, batucada and DJ sessions extending into the early hours. The festival concludes on Wednesday with a solemn mass for San Juan at the San Pablo VI parish and a concert by the Banda Sinfónica de Tres Cantos in the plaza de Antonio Gala.
