Residents in Bidebieta saw officers in the area from about 7:30 a.m. on 5 November 2026 as the Guardia Civil searched homes at two nearby entrances on Serapio Mujika street. The operation resulted in the detention of two people on suspicion of belonging to a criminal organisation, an allegation rather than a finding of guilt.
The deployment drew attention in the neighbourhood. Officers were seen leaving one of the entrances with cardboard boxes containing unspecified material.
Personnel from the Guardia Civil’s USECIC, described as the Citizen Security Unit of the Command, also took part in the operation.
In a separate security operation on Paseo Nuevo on 3 November, San Sebastián authorities identified 17 young people allegedly connected with youth gangs. Mayor Jon Insausti said officers confiscated numerous items, including balaclavas and masks reportedly used to cause disturbances, and that the investigation remained open.
