VI Premios de la Mujer en el Deporte WOMAN - SPORT Awards Held in Barcelona. The VI Premios de la Mujer en el Deporte WOMAN - SPORT ceremony took place in Barcelona. Athletes, executives, and teams who made contributions to the development of women's sports received awards. Among the winners were a football player, a mountaineer, a club president, and a Paralympic champion.
Barcelona hosted the 6th Premios de la Mujer en el Deporte WOMAN - SPORT ceremony, bringing together leading athletes, executives, and representatives of women's sports at Hotel Miramar. The main star of the evening was 18-year-old footballer Clara Serrajordi, who recently won the Champions League in Oslo. Joining her on stage was coach Pere Romeu, who received a round of applause from the audience.
Among the awardees were other prominent figures: Celta de Vigo president Marian Mouriño was named best executive, while Edurne Pasabán received the overcoming award—despite her achievements being tied to extreme altitudes, she accepted the honor with a smile. Marta Ortega, recognized for her career in padel, and Pilar Pasanau, who completed a solo round-the-world voyage on a 5.8-meter yacht, were also in the spotlight.
Valencia Basket Femenino received the award for best women's team after their fourth consecutive victory in the Endesa League. Paralympic champion Núria Marquès once again confirmed her status as one of the most consistent athletes in adaptive swimming. Special recognition went to Fundación Blanca, which supports female athletes in psychological adjustment during and after their careers. The project is led by Lola Fernández Ochoa, continuing the work of her sister Blanca.
At the beginning of the evening, Prensa Ibérica vice president Arantza Sarasola emphasized that women's sports continue to face fewer resources and less attention, but awards like this help shift the situation. She noted that every victory by women in traditionally male sports sends a message to society about equal opportunities. Sarasola particularly highlighted the achievements of Marian Mouriño, Marta Ortega, Pilar Pasanau, Edurne Pasabán, Vikika Costa, Paula Ordovás, Núria Marquès, Clara Serrajordi, and the Valencia Basket Femenino team, as well as the contribution of Fundación Blanca Fernández Ochoa.
This year, the ceremony also highlighted the influence of social networks: Vikika Costa and Paula Ordovás were recognized for promoting a healthy lifestyle among women. The evening was once again hosted by Judit Mascó, who brought energy and a celebratory atmosphere. The guests included representatives from Catalan authorities, parliament, sports organizations, as well as notable athletes and public figures.

In recent years, interest in women's sports in Spain has grown significantly, as evidenced not only by the number of participants in such events but also by media attention. For comparison, other areas of mass culture, such as cooking shows, are also seeing unexpected turns: in one episode of the popular program MasterChef 14 a favorite contestant was unexpectedly eliminated, sparking discussion among viewers. This underscores that women's leadership and achievements are becoming increasingly visible in various fields of Spanish life.
For reference: In recent years, women's sports in Spain have received significant support at both the national and regional levels. The country has implemented a number of programs aimed at developing women's teams, and the successes of Spanish female athletes on the international stage are fueling growing interest in gender equality in sports. Barcelona has traditionally been considered one of the leading centers for the promotion of women's sports in Europe.
