After almost four years together, Sandra Barneda and Pascalle Paerel will marry on October 10 in Candeleda, where Barneda owns a home. The television presenter and writer is marrying the Dutch dancer in the mountain municipality on the southern slope of the Sierra de Gredos. About 150 guests are expected, and the celebration will bring together traditions from both women’s countries.
For a village of about 5,000 residents, the wedding is a major public event. Candeleda has medieval origins and a long-established local identity, placing the celebration in a mountain setting rather than Madrid. Several Spanish reports have pointed to Barneda’s country home there, although the couple had not officially disclosed the exact venue in advance.
Candeleda has hosted celebrity weddings before. The town is also associated with the families of José María Michavila’s daughters, while Nuria Roca and Juan del Val have a home in the surrounding area.
Barneda and Paerel met through a dating app in autumn 2022, a detail they disclosed publicly only shortly before the wedding, Los 40 reported.

The ceremony’s details have been tightly controlled because the couple sold the wedding exclusive. Informalia and El Economista reported that the arrangement restricted advance disclosures about the brides’ outfits and menu, along with other wedding details. The couple’s clothes will not be seen until the celebration. The menu is expected to include typical Spanish and Dutch dishes, and guests will include familiar faces and colleagues of Paerel from the Dutch National Ballet.
Preparations have taken place under impressive time pressure. Spanish reports described a little more than two months between the engagement announcement at the end of July and the October 10 ceremony. Hola reported that the couple also had to spend more time in Madrid and adjust their professional and personal schedules because the wedding was being organized in Spain.
Tradition has shaped the final preparations: the brides have not seen each other before the ceremony.
On Thursday, Barneda left her Madrid residence after professional commitments linked to Supervivientes All Stars and travelled towards Candeleda to oversee the remaining arrangements. Dressed casually, she carried little luggage. Among her belongings was a white garment bag, possibly holding her wedding dress or clothes for Friday’s gathering with close relatives and friends.
Barneda has spoken openly about the emotional strain behind the ceremony. She has said she is happy and nervous about marrying the woman of her life. In interviews, she explained that she had not previously planned to get married; meeting someone with whom she was ready to make a long-term commitment changed that. She called the preparation an “emotional tsunami”, while Paerel said the process had proved far more demanding than expected.
Barneda made the wedding public on Tuesday night while speaking to the contestants and viewers of Supervivientes. The announcement also explained why she exchanged presenting duties with Jorge Javier Vázquez.
The celebration has drawn attention within the same celebrity-news cycle as other private events involving prominent visitors in Spain. Its scale is defined by one village and 150 invited guests, with Spanish and Dutch traditions at the centre.
