Many residents of Spain are unaware of how profitable the car wash business can be. There’s a common belief that this kind of enterprise doesn’t generate significant income; however, in practice, quite the opposite is true.
Manel, who runs a car care center in Palma, started by washing just a few cars a day for acquaintances. Over time, demand for his services grew so much that the facility was filled daily, and monthly revenue reached 10,000–15,000 euros. According to him, success came from attention to detail and making sure each client left feeling as if their car had just rolled off the assembly line.
However, the road to stability wasn’t easy. In the early days, the entrepreneur faced administrative hurdles that nearly forced him to close down. For several weeks, the company operated at a loss, until they managed to prove full compliance and resume business. During this time, the police even visited the premises for inspections.
According to Manel, launching such a business requires starting capital of about 10,000 euros. This amount covers renting premises, purchasing equipment, buying professional supplies, and organizing an advertising campaign. It’s also important to ensure the safety and comfort of the workspace.
Working in the automotive service sector requires significant physical effort. The owner notes that the job often involves tough conditions, frequently working in a bent position, which can cause back pain. Not everyone can keep up with this pace, so it’s important to be prepared for heavy workloads.
Constant development and the introduction of new services are also key to success. Recently, the entrepreneur began offering a special ceramic coating for car bodies across the country, which protects paint from resin, bird droppings, and other contaminants. In his view, innovations like these help stand out in the market and attract new customers.
Manel advises newcomers not to chase the lowest price, but to focus on quality and professionalism. Even if you only service a few cars at first, it’s important to do the best possible work—this is the foundation for long-term success.
