Which New Honda Models Will Go on Sale in Spain in 2026

Will Honda reshape the market or are these just surface-level updates

Honda is preparing several premieres for the Spanish market. In 2026, new models and updates to popular cars will be released. Find out which vehicles will surprise buyers this year.

In 2026, the Japanese automotive giant Honda set out to surprise Spanish car enthusiasts with several new releases at once. Known for its restraint in frequently updating its model lineup, the company is now betting on fresh solutions and the return of legendary names. The Spanish market is preparing to welcome not only long-awaited restyled models but also entirely new cars that could change the balance of powers in the hybrid and electric vehicle segments.

Honda is in no rush with mass releases, preferring targeted but impactful moves. In recent years, the manufacturer has focused on keeping its models relevant, but 2026 promises to be an exception. Already at the beginning of the year, two new cars appeared on Spanish roads, and in the coming months, several high-profile premieres are expected.

The return of a legend

The most talked-about event was the comeback of the Honda Prelude. This iconic coupe had been absent from the market since 2001, and now returns in an entirely new form. The 2026 Prelude is a hybrid with a striking design that clearly draws on the sports models of the brand. Civic Type R’s influence is obvious in both exterior details and technological solutions.

The car features a 4.52-meter-long body and a 2+2 seating arrangement designed for four occupants. Under the hood, it is powered by a hybrid system based on a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline engine, complemented by an electric motor and battery. The total output reaches 184 hp with a torque of 315 Nm. All this technology is paired with an automatic CVT transmission, ensuring smooth performance and efficiency.

The Prelude is already available in Spain in a single Advance trim, priced from 49,500 euros. The model has received the ECO environmental badge, making it especially appealing to residents of major cities.

Updated Civic

The Honda Civic hasn’t gone unnoticed either. The current generation, launched in 2023, recently underwent a planned update. The exterior changes include an updated grille, the removal of fog lights, new body colors, and 18-inch alloy wheels for the Advance and Sport trims.

Inside, the Civic has become even more modern: upgraded upholstery, a new headliner, and fresh decorative elements for the ventilation system. The Sport version now features a heated steering wheel and a larger 10.2-inch digital instrument panel. The new interior lighting adds to the cabin’s ambiance.

The technical specs remain unchanged: a 2.0-liter hybrid system and electric motor deliver the same 184 hp and 315 Nm of torque. The automatic transmission and ECO badge are retained. In Spain, the 2026 Civic is available starting at 33,900 euros with three trim levels: Elegance, Sport, and Advance.

Electric breakthrough

In 2026, Honda plans to launch the production version of the Super-One — a compact electric vehicle first unveiled as a concept at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last summer. This car targets the affordable urban EV segment, where competition remains minimal.

Super-One is based on the Japanese N-One model and retains the distinctive kei-car features: a tall, narrow, and boxy body. The production version is expected to receive an electric motor more powerful than the traditional 64 hp, allowing it to stand out among competitors. Exact technical specifications are still under wraps, but the new model has already generated significant interest.

Crossover facelift

Among the anticipated premieres are the updated Honda CR-V and ZR-V. Both crossovers are set for a mild facelift, which will affect their exterior styling and equipment. The manufacturer plans to refresh the grille design, introduce a new lighting signature for the headlights, and offer additional interior trim options.

Inside, the cars will feature new upholstery materials, an upgraded multimedia system, and an expanded set of electronic assistants. The changes won’t be drastic, but they will help the models remain competitive amid growing pressure from other brands. The refreshed CR-V and ZR-V are expected to go on sale as early as the first quarter of the year.

Honda opts for evolution over revolution, maintaining the recognizable look of its models while integrating modern technologies. This strategy allows the brand to retain a loyal customer base and attract new buyers, particularly as environmental regulations tighten and interest in hybrid and electric vehicles grows.

Honda is one of the world’s leading automakers, with consistently strong demand for its cars in Spain. The company is renowned for its innovative solutions in hybrid and electric technologies, as well as its meticulous attention to detail and build quality. In recent years, Honda has actively expanded its range of eco-friendly models, focusing on safety, comfort, and advanced technology. As a result, the brand maintains a strong market presence and continues to surprise with new products that meet European consumers’ expectations.
