
Santi Cazorla publicly commented on the recent events surrounding changes in the management of the football club Real Oviedo. The player categorically denied rumors of his involvement in decisions regarding the dismissal of head coach Veljko Paunović and the appointment of Luis Carrión.
At a meeting with journalists, Cazorla emphasized that his role is limited solely to playing on the field. He stated that he should be evaluated only as an athlete and considers attempts to question his professional reputation unacceptable.
According to the midfielder, the news of Paunović’s departure came as a surprise to the entire team. Nevertheless, Cazorla expressed respect for the club management’s decisions and stressed his support for the new coach, Luis Carrión.
The player called on all team members to stay united, noting that the club’s interests should come before the personal ambitions of players and coaches. He also highlighted the importance of joint efforts to achieve the set goals.
Speaking about his physical condition, Cazorla said that his knee is gradually recovering and expressed hope to return to the pitch in the next match. He stressed that the team is focused on maintaining its position in the league and is not inclined to dramatize the current situation.
