A new remarkable player has emerged at Barcelona’s football academy, drawing the attention of experts at just 15 years old. Ebrima Tunkara, a native of Gambia who holds Spanish citizenship, is making a strong impression in the club’s youth teams and the national squad.
During the current international break, Tunkara participated in two matches of the UEFA Under-17 European Championship qualifiers. In this period, he scored three goals and provided an assist, which immediately set him apart from his peers.
Ebrima’s journey within the Barcelona system began with the younger age groups. He progressed steadily, moving from the Under-15s to the Under-16s, consistently demonstrating exceptional talent. He is now playing for Juvenil A, the club’s top youth team, where he has made three appearances in the national championship and scored a goal.
Interest in Tunkara is growing in Catalonia. His development is ahead of schedule, and he clearly stands out among other young footballers. At 15, he already made his debut in the UEFA Youth League, playing against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). In just 12 minutes on the pitch, he managed to showcase his strengths.
Ebrima moved to Spain in 2017. From his very first training sessions, coaches noted his dribbling skills, ease with the ball, and confidence on the field. Even against footballers several years older, he looks assured and often comes out on top.
In recent years, Tunkara has been regarded as one of the most promising talents at the La Masia academy. His game is marked by speed, technical skill, and creative playmaking. Many experts already consider him a future star of Spanish football.
