Zara Tindall Showcases Flawless Autumn Style at Ascot Races

Royal elegance at Ascot: Zara Tindall demonstrates how to wear this fall's top colors

Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter is once again in the spotlight. She attended the renowned races in Berkshire, and her outfit drew widespread admiration. Everyone is talking about her impeccable autumn look.

The Ascot racecourse, one of Zara Tindall’s favorite venues, once again became a showcase for her refined taste. This past Saturday, October 18, the niece of British monarch Charles III attended the prestigious British Champions Day. This key autumn event in the horse racing world, held in Berkshire, this year coincided with a personal celebration in her family — the birthday of her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall.

The 44-year-old athlete, who won silver at the 2012 London Olympics as part of the equestrian eventing team, once again affirmed her status as a style icon. For this appearance, she chose a classic ensemble built around the season’s trending colors. The look was anchored by a dark navy wool suit from the British brand The Fold London, a favorite of hers. The central piece was the Napier jacket, featuring wide lapels and a double-breasted closure. Its tailored cut with a slight peplum at the waist created a feminine and elegant silhouette.

The jacket was paired with an A-line, midi-length Ellingham skirt made of the same fabric. This flawless set was perfectly suited for Britain’s autumn weather and matched the formal yet slightly countryside ambience of Ascot. Under the jacket, a deep burgundy satin blouse, buttoned all the way up, added rich color to the dark blue outfit. This wine tone often appears in her fall wardrobe and is a favorite among many royal family members, including Kate Middleton.

The accessories were chosen in the same color palette. The choice fell on the Hudson bag by Aspinal of London and berry-colored suede boots from Dune. Her head was adorned with the Zoe Petal headband-tiara by Bee Smith Millinery, featuring decorative leaves. This element became the most striking accent, adding a romantic note to the understated look. The only jewelry she wore were minimalist earrings by Van Peterson, lending a delicate shimmer. Natural makeup with defined brows and mascara was perfectly in line with her ‘less is more’ philosophy. Her longtime stylist Annie Miall was behind the creation of this harmonious ensemble.

Zara’s presence at the Ascot races is a familiar sight. As a professional equestrian, she feels right at home here, where her sporting career and public status are closely intertwined. She is usually accompanied at the racetrack by her husband and friends. This time, however, Mike Tindall, who was celebrating his 47th birthday, did not appear in the stands with her, likely opting to spend time with their three children. Among the guests at the event was also Queen Camilla. Although Zara does not hold a royal title, her appearance at such events maintains the unbroken connection to her family’s equestrian traditions.
