Mert Ramazan Demir, who is only 27 years old but already has a decade of experience in the audiovisual industry, has become one of the most recognizable faces in Spain. Thanks to the phenomenal success of the Turkish drama “Yeni Hayat,” broadcast on Antena 3, he has become a prominent figure not only in his homeland but also far beyond, including the Spanish market, where the series has gained a large following.
From the very start of his career, Demir insisted that acting is much more than simply memorizing a script. For him, the key is an intuitive connection with the emotions of the characters. In one of his public appearances, he explained that it is possible to technically understand what emotion needs to be conveyed in a scene, but not truly feel it. Achieving a genuine, authentic connection with the role is what he considers his main goal.
His working method is based more on empathy than on judgment, which has allowed him to portray Ferit in all his contradictions. This interpretation captivated viewers. The actor acknowledges that the evolution of the young Korhan forces him to constantly rethink his approach to the role. He compared this process to getting to know a new person: each week, the character changes, revealing new facets for emotional exploration.
Continuous work on the character led him to a deep understanding of his hero. Demir describes Ferit as someone driven by his own emotions, making impulsive decisions that ultimately hurt those around him. In an interview with a Lebanese TV channel, he remarked that his character is “wounded, and that’s why he makes mistakes,” thus highlighting a vulnerability that is central to his storyline.
Beyond this iconic role, Demir claims that his passion for acting is fueled by a need to explore new things and avoid his comfort zone. “If I stay curious about life, enthusiasm always follows. I try not to be where there’s nothing left for me to discover,” he once said. This philosophy has already led him to take on new projects, including a leading role in a Netflix film, reflecting his drive to broaden his creative horizons.
