Royal Reception in Madrid: The Most Striking Celebrity and Political Outfits at the Celebration

Queen Letizia and Ana Rosa Quintana: Style Showdown at the Year's Biggest Reception

Madrid hosted the main reception of the year. Celebrities gathered at the Royal Palace. Their outfits set new fashion trends. The royal family was at the center of attention.

October 12, 2025 once again affirmed its status not only as Spain’s main national holiday, but also as one of the country’s key social events. Following the tradition established in 1987, after the morning military parade reviewed by the royal couple together with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, a formal reception was held at the Royal Palace. This year was particularly special: the monarchs’ younger daughter, Infanta Sofía, joined the family at this official event for the first time, drawing extra attention from the press and public.

Among the hundreds of invited guests, as always, media and political figures stood out, with their outfits sparking lively debate. Journalist Isabel Jiménez, recently honored with an award for her creative vision in fashion, appeared in a striking white dress with textured detailing and an asymmetric skirt, complemented by a quilted Stella McCartney bag and distinctive transparent shoes. Her colleague, TV presenter Ana Rosa Quintana, opted for an impeccable white trouser suit with a single-breasted jacket, thus supporting the “royal” trend previously showcased by Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor. Sandra Golpe looked equally elegant in a two-tone black and white ensemble, while María Rey surprised with a bold choice—a brown perforated leather dress with fringe.

Female members of the political elite and socialites also showcased refined taste. Teresa Urquijo, the wife of the mayor of Madrid, chose a kimono with vintage floral embroidery in an Asian style, which she wore over a burgundy midi dress. The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, dazzled in a deep blue Bardot neckline dress by Vicky Martín Berrocal. Manuela Villena, known as an ambassador of Andalusian fashion, opted for a set from IQ Collection featuring a jacket with statement shoulders and black taffeta trousers. Esther Muñoz also chose this brand, selecting a dress with a draped collar and a geometric belt. Ministers Pilar Alegría and Diana Morant did not go unnoticed either: the former appeared in an asymmetric red dress, while the latter focused on distinctive accessories, including an anatomically shaped woven bag.

The main protagonists of the day were undoubtedly the women of the royal family. Queen Letizia once again confirmed her status as a style icon, appearing in an elegant green dress with black accents, three-quarter sleeves, and a midi length. Her look was completed with a Victoria Insignia bag by Carolina Herrera, backless shoes from Massimo Dutti, and exquisite emerald earrings by Tous. All eyes were also on Infanta Sofía. For her debut appearance at the National Holiday reception, she chose a charming polka-dot dress by Carolina Herrera, complemented by delicate ballet flats. Her appearance symbolized both continuity and a fresh take on the traditions of the Spanish royal court.
