On Saturday, before the match between the teams from Sevilla and Villarreal, a special message was delivered at La Cerámica Stadium. The Andalusian football club dedicated the game to the memory of 14-year-old Sandra Peña, who passed away after reporting bullying at the Irlandesas school.
Sandra was a devoted fan of the club, as confirmed by a photograph shared by her parents. In the picture, the girl is seen wearing her favorite team’s jersey. Her family spoke out against school bullying, sharing their daughter’s experience.
On the club’s social media, a poster appeared with the words “En memoria de Sandra Peña.” This gesture was timed to coincide with the match, which began at 18:30 local time. The stadium in Villarreal became a place where messages of support and condolences were expressed.
In addition to her love for football, Sandra also played sports professionally. She competed for the women’s team CD Honeyball in Sevilla. The management of the Andalusian club offered special condolences and supported the team where the girl played.
The tragedy sparked a broad public response. In Spain, the need to combat bullying in educational institutions was raised once again. The football community did not stand aside, highlighting the importance of supporting affected families and raising awareness about bullying among teenagers.
