Double tragedy in a northern Spain home
In the small settlement of Abegondo, located in the province of A Coruña, law enforcement officers have launched an investigation after the bodies of two women were discovered. One was a healthcare worker who lived with her elderly mother. Both were found in their home after the younger woman’s colleagues became concerned by her prolonged absence from work and lack of communication.
Neighbors and colleagues raise the alarm
The alert was sent to emergency services in the evening. Neighbors and colleagues of the woman, who worked at a major city medical complex, noticed that she had not been in contact for several days. Attempts to enter the house failed—no one answered the door, heightening concerns among those nearby.
Rescue operation and first emergency response
Emergency services arrived on site, including medics, firefighters, and members of the civil guard. After forcing entry, two women were found inside: one already showing no signs of life, the other taken to hospital but could not be saved. The exact causes of death for both women remain undetermined and will be clarified by forensic examination.
Investigation ongoing
At this time, investigators are not ruling out any possible scenarios. No obvious signs of violence or forced entry were found in the house, but final conclusions will only be drawn after the autopsy results are received. Local residents and the victim’s colleagues are shocked by what happened and are awaiting official information from the authorities.
