Catherine Zeta-Jones Films New Amazon Series at Navarra Winery

Una estrella de Hollywood convierte una bodega en epicentro de intrigas y persecuciones

A winery in Navarra has become the filming location for a new thriller starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. The Amazon Prime Video series follows a former drug trafficker on the run from mercenaries. The filming site blends history, art, and modern technology, highlighting the region’s uniqueness.

In one of Navarra’s picturesque corners, where vineyards sit alongside modern sculptures and historic buildings, filming has begun for a new international TV series. The spotlight is on a renowned winery located just a few kilometers from Pamplona. Soon, this place will be introduced to audiences worldwide thanks to an Amazon Prime Video project.

The leading role in the series ‘Kill Jackie’ is played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Her character, Jackie Price, was formerly involved in drug trafficking and now works in the art world. According to the plot, she has to flee from a group of mercenaries known as ‘Los Siete Demonios.’ The script is based on Nick Harkaway’s novel ‘The Price You Pay,’ but in the adaptation, the main character has been changed to a woman.

Filming is taking place not only in Spain but also in other European cities, including Lisbon, London, and Swansea. However, it is the winery in Navarra that became the key location for the show’s most tense and dynamic scenes. The cast includes such names as Ron Perlman, Jonathan Cake, Bill Paterson, Daniel Ings, Christine Adams, and the Spanish actor Óscar Jaenada, who also took part in scenes shot on the winery grounds.

The winery where the filming took place is renowned for its rich heritage. It brings together architectural monuments from different eras: a 16th-century Renaissance palace, a medieval tower, and a Romanesque chapel. Modern production facilities and a wine museum make it a popular destination for wine tourism enthusiasts. The history of winemaking in this region dates back to the 12th century, and by the 14th century, local wines were being supplied to the court of Charles III of Navarre. In the 19th century, a winery was built here in the style of French châteaux, but a phylloxera epidemic halted production for a long time. Only at the end of the 20th century were traditions revived, and the winery regained international recognition.

Today, visitors can explore the historic cellars housing barrels and collectible wines, as well as a collection of contemporary art with more than 150 works. The winery offers tastings, themed tours, and private events among the vineyards.

The winery holds the highest quality designation for Spanish vineyards and cultivates its own grapes on 116 hectares. It grows varieties such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Special attention is given to preserving the natural balance and implementing eco-friendly technologies. As part of sustainability projects, the winery studies biodiversity, introduces plant cover to improve soil health, and uses solar panels, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.

Filming the international series marked a new stage of development for the winery. Thanks to the project, the region’s architecture, sculptures, and vineyards will appear on the screens of millions of viewers, strengthening Navarra’s position not only as a winegrowing center but also as a hub for cultural initiatives. Thus, the winery becomes not only a producer of premium wines, but also an important representative of the region’s cultural and natural heritage.
