Dangerous Contaminants Found in Popular Knorr Soups in Spanish Supermarkets

Warning to shoppers — pieces of metal and rubber found in Knorr soups. Don’t risk your health

Foreign objects detected in two batches of Knorr chicken soup. The product has already hit store shelves in seven regions. Authorities urge consumers not to consume it.

Residents of several autonomous communities in Spain are at risk due to an unexpected discovery in one of the most popular supermarket products. Fragments of metal and rubber were found in two batches of Knorr’s chicken noodle soup. The product has already been distributed, and customers are now strongly advised to check their supplies.

The issue concerns the soup labeled “Sopa de pollo con fideos” (chicken noodle soup), packaged in 63-gram portions and meant to be stored at room temperature. The problematic batches are numbered 527922C93 and 528022C93, with an expiration date of April 2027. These packs could have reached households in Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, and Madrid.

Authorities emphasize: if you have purchased this product, it is best not to take any risks and avoid consuming it. Information about the potential hazard has already been forwarded to the relevant regional bodies to speed up the recall from stores and warehouses.

A rapid information exchange system between the regions was activated to ensure a prompt response. This made it possible to quickly alert all stakeholders and begin inspecting retail outlets where the dangerous product might be present. Priority is being given to supermarkets, where such products are most commonly purchased.

No injuries have been reported so far, but experts warn that even small foreign objects in food can lead to serious health risks. This is especially true for children and the elderly, who are most likely to choose such quick-preparation foods.

Customers are advised to carefully inspect the packaging of Knorr soup they have at home. If the batch number matches those listed, the product should be immediately withdrawn from use. Returns are accepted at the point of purchase, even if the packaging has already been opened.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and promise to keep the public informed about further actions. A comprehensive inspection of all retail outlets that may have received the affected batches is expected to conclude soon. The manufacturer has also launched an internal investigation to determine how foreign objects ended up in the product.

Meanwhile, residents of affected regions are urged to exercise maximum caution and follow expert recommendations. Consumer safety remains the top priority, and any suspicious products should be returned to stores immediately.
