Mallorca continues to strengthen its reputation not only as a destination for sun and sea lovers, but also as one of the most pet-friendly holiday spots. In 2025, the island is home to several beaches where dogs are allowed to roam freely, swim, and play with their owners. These zones are designed with safety and comfort in mind for all visitors and comply with modern regulations regarding pets in public areas.
One of the most secluded spots is Cala Blanca beach (Cala Blanca) in the municipality of Andratx (Andratx). This is a small natural area with a rocky shoreline, accessible by a trail about two kilometers long. Here, peace and quiet are valued, and if you visit with a dog, you must follow certain rules: keep your pet on a leash and muzzled, clean up after them, and carry an up-to-date veterinary passport.
In the Costa de la Calma (Costa de la Calma) area lies Cala dels Gats beach (Cala dels Gats). This small area with sand and rocks allows dogs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. In specifically designated zones, pets can be off-leash; however, for potentially dangerous breeds, leashes and muzzles are mandatory. It is important to keep an eye on your pet’s behavior and not disturb other visitors.
Es Carnatge Beach in Palma is located near the airport. Here, the sandy shore blends with green areas, and a popular café operates nearby. Dog owners can visit year-round, but must clean up after their pets and supervise their behavior.
In Pollença, a designated 600-meter section of Llenaire Beach is available. The area is mostly rocky and shaded by pine trees. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times, and some breeds require a muzzle. Owners are responsible for keeping the area clean, carrying pet documents, and preventing conflicts with other visitors.
Na Patana Beach in the municipality of Santa Margalida is a wild area between Son Bauló and Son Real, near Can Picafort. You’ll find both sandy and rocky stretches, dunes, and scenic views of Alcudia Bay. The shallow water makes this spot especially suitable for dogs to swim and play.
Punta Marroig is a beach located between Palmanova and Es Carregador. The coast is mainly rocky, and there is a modern garden nearby. Dogs are allowed on the beach from 8:00 to 20:00, with owners required to keep pets under control and follow the established rules.
Another dog-friendly recreation area is Punta d’es Far in Alcúdia, on Alcanada beach, about 3.5 km from the port. The shoreline here is a mix of pebbles, sand, and pine forest, offering pleasant shade and coolness. The beach is located in a protected area, so it’s important to keep your dog on a leash, clean up after them, and ensure all vaccinations are up to date.
Cala Gamba in Palma is a small rocky area where dogs are allowed all year round. This is a peaceful spot for those who prefer solitude and a laid-back seaside experience. As with other beaches, standard rules apply: supervision of your pet, cleaning up after them, and using a muzzle when necessary.
All the listed beaches are designed with the interests of both dog owners and other visitors in mind. Each has its own set of rules aimed at maintaining cleanliness, safety, and respect for others. Before your visit, it’s recommended to check the latest regulations and prepare all necessary documents for your pet.
