In the Spanish capital, police officers successfully carried out an operation to detain a man who tried to transport a substantial load of illegal substances through the bus station. The incident took place at the end of October at the Estación Sur de Autobuses, one of Madrid’s largest transport hubs.
During a routine check of bus passengers, police officers noticed one man whose behavior seemed suspicious. They decided to conduct an additional search of his luggage. Inside the suitcase, they found 25 packages neatly wrapped in tape. As it was later established, all of them contained cocaine.
The total weight of the confiscated drug was nearly 30 kilograms. This amount of narcotics could have reached the black market if not for the vigilance of the transport police officers. The man was arrested on site and taken to the station for further investigation. He has been charged with a drug trafficking offense.
The suspect is currently in custody awaiting a court decision. Police continue to investigate to determine whether he was connected to any criminal group or acted on his own. The operation is another example of Madrid law enforcement’s effective efforts to combat drug distribution in the region.
