Jota Peleteiro Reveals Financial Details of Divorce from Jessica Bueno

Court, Betrayal, and Child Support: Footballer Reveals the Whole Truth About the Divorce

Former footballer Jota Peleteiro has spoken candidly about money matters, disclosing the financial terms of his split from Jessica Bueno. Their legal proceedings were fraught with challenges.

Former footballer Jota Peleteiro decided to publicly clarify the situation surrounding his high-profile divorce from model Jessica Bueno by appearing on the talk show “¡De Viernes!”. Their marriage, which lasted nine years and brought them two sons, ended in 2022, but the fallout from their breakup continues to capture public attention. The main topic of speculation has been financial disputes and legal battles over child support, and the athlete has finally broken his silence to set the record straight.

A relationship that once seemed perfect turned into a full-blown legal battle after their separation. Peleteiro admitted that this period was extremely difficult for both parties. He acknowledged that going to court at the outset only made the conflict worse. “When justice gets involved, both sides feel more vulnerable and hurt. These early battles, so to speak, made everything much harder for both of us,” he shared on air.

Despite initial hostility, the former spouses eventually managed to find the strength to engage in dialogue. According to Jota, they reached a basic agreement even before the main court hearing began. “I believe that this agreement we reached was necessary so that we could all calm down a bit,” he explained. This made it possible to prevent further escalation, although the legal process itself was not entirely halted. Peleteiro clarified that although Jessica withdrew her original claim, the case is of a criminal nature, so the prosecutor’s office is continuing its work as prescribed.

One of the most talked-about issues was the amount of alimony. The athlete shed light on the details of the financial agreement that had received so much press coverage. He confirmed that the agreement covers the children’s educational expenses, but the final amount was adjusted. “The fact is, they no longer attend the school they used to, so the sum changed,” he explained, without naming a specific figure but noting that he pays 2,000 euros per month. According to him, this compromise satisfied both sides and was reached voluntarily.

The split, which the couple initially tried to portray as amicable, actually concealed a host of problems. Over time, it emerged that one of the reasons for the marriage’s collapse was the footballer’s infidelity, which he ultimately acknowledged publicly. Compounding this were longstanding issues that had accumulated over years of living together and a mutual realization that their paths had diverged. They were no longer heading in the same direction, and separation became inevitable.

Three years after their divorce, Jota and Jessica remain in contact solely for the sake of their children. Matters regarding their upbringing, education, and financial support still require joint decisions. Judging by the tone of Peleteiro’s statements, the most contentious aspects of their communication have been resolved, and the situation now appears far calmer than it was at the height of the conflict.

Incidentally, José Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo, better known as Jota Peleteiro, is a product of the Celta football club’s youth academy. Over his career, he played for Spain’s Eibar and Alavés, as well as England’s Brentford and Aston Villa. In 2021, he unexpectedly retired from football at age 30 and turned to business. Jessica Bueno rose to fame in 2009, representing Sevilla in the Miss España pageant. She later appeared on the popular reality show Supervivientes and was involved in a high-profile relationship with Kiko Rivera, son of singer Isabel Pantoja, with whom she also has a son.
