Mass Work Stoppages Across Spain on October 15 in Support of Gaza

The entire country prepares for a major solidarity rally with Palestine – workers to take to the streets

Mid-October will see large-scale work stoppages and gatherings across Spain. The action is organized in solidarity with the people of Gaza and in protest against violence in the region. Workers from various shifts are encouraged to join the demonstrations.

October 15 is set to be an unusual day in Spain: nationwide work stoppages and gatherings will be held to support the people of Gaza. Organizers expect workers from various sectors to join the action, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and protesting the ongoing violence in the region.

The country’s two largest trade unions have decided to go beyond words and officially registered a strike. They emphasize their intention to give the protest a distinctly labor dimension, allowing every employee to make their position known directly at the workplace. Three time windows have been set: at night, in the morning, and in the evening, so that no one is left out due to their schedule.

During these hours, employees will not only be able to stop work, but also gather at the entrance to their organizations, hold meetings, or read out statements. Unions assure that all actions are in accordance with the law, so participants will not face disciplinary measures. Official notifications have already been sent to the Ministry of Labor and regional authorities.

Organizers emphasize that this is not merely a political gesture, but an act of humanity and collective responsibility. They are calling on everyone concerned about the fate of Gaza’s residents to take to the streets and show that Spanish society does not remain indifferent to global tragedies. Both public and private companies, as well as professionals from different fields, are expected to join the action.

On this day, Spain will become a venue for numerous gatherings where people can openly express their views on the situation in the Middle East. Unions hope that this initiative will draw attention to the issue and serve as an example for other countries.
