This October, Santander will once again surprise locals and visitors: the Palacio de La Magdalena will transform into a true labyrinth of fears for three days. Organizers promise more than just decorations—it’s full immersion into an atmosphere of mystery and horror. Every corner of the historic building will be filled with unexpected characters and special effects, with routes developed to suit different age groups.
Starting from October 29, the palace doors will open to anyone brave enough to test their nerves. Children will have their own program—the ‘Vampire Estate,’ where they can explore halls decorated in the best Halloween traditions. Adults, on the other hand, can take on the ‘Psychiatric Night’—a route strictly for those over 18, promising a truly intense experience. All visits are by prior reservation only, so everyone can enjoy the thrills without unnecessary crowds.
The City in Halloween Mode
The festive atmosphere won’t be limited to just the palace. For three days, central Santander will host themed workshops, street performances, and parades. On Calle Juan de Herrera and Plaza Porticada, kids can take part in creative activities: making spooky wooden decorations, face painting, and fun contests. In the evening, the streets will come alive with music, dancing, and costume parades, and in the Jardines de Pereda, a real ‘Cursed Cell’ interactive quest awaits the bravest.
The program features dozens of events: from a parade of dance schools to nighttime photo zones and the distribution of glowing balloons. Everyone will find something to enjoy, whether it’s a family-friendly workshop or an extreme quest for adults. Special attention is given to safety: all activities have participant limits and require advance registration.
La Magdalena Palace: History and Modern Life
La Magdalena Palace is not just an architectural gem of Santander but also a symbol of city life. Built at the beginning of the 20th century for the royal family, it has long since become a hub for cultural events. Today, its halls and parks host festivals, exhibitions, and, of course, the most spectacular autumn celebrations. Halloween here is more than just an excuse for fun—it’s a chance to see familiar walls from a new perspective and to feel the magic and history come alive at once.
Events organized by the municipality aim to bring together residents and visitors, offer new experiences, and make the autumn holidays truly unforgettable. Once again, Santander proves that tradition and modernity can go hand in hand, creating unique events for all generations.
